Famill Twinax 902 Information
Famill's range of Twinax interfaces have a variety of support options as indicated below. Please read the instructions about how these files should be installed, prior to downloading.
Installing Printer Driver Files to Famill 902
Download dlfit.exe (24kb) is a dos-based program used to facilitate the loading of 902 Printer Driver Files (.DF1) into the interface. This program is included on the floppy disk supplied with the 902 Manual, and may be run directly from floppy. If running from hard disk, it should beplaced in the same directory as your DF1 files. DLFIT.EXE is convenient, but not essential. Manual installation of a DF1 file can also be accomplished by the following steps:
- Attach the 902 to the Printer, and to LPT1 on your PC
- On the 902, set the Address Dial to 7
- On the 902, set switches 5 and 6 of switch block 2 to ON
- Power-up the Printer and Interface
- Wait for the Address-7 diagnostic page to print
- Either.. Run the DLFIT.EXE program and follow the screen prompts or...Copy the file in binary form from the PC to LPT1 In MS-DOS, for example,type the line copy /b sample.df1 lpt1
- After a few seconds, another Address-7 diagnostic page should print. The phrase ***EEPROM DOWNLOAD SUCCESSFUL on this page
indicates success. On this page will be shown the interface switch settings appropriate to this driver. - Power-off the 902, and reset the Address Dial to the printer's line address.
Printer Driver Files
These files should be downloaded and installed on the interface via the method outlined above. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact our online support team via the support menu above.

EPROMS for the Famill 900 and 902
As a service to Famill's international dealers, the following binary Eprom source files have been provided. All require a 27C256 Eprom chip. Files for the 900 have different selections of 4 Printer Emulations. The 902 Eproms all have the 3 standard emulations, but are at different levels of release, and may be required to overcome site problems through the use of new features. (These files have been compressed using PKZIP.) The filename is of the form RRR-CCCC.90x, where RRR is the revision level, and CCCC is the checksum. The checksum has been engineered to reflect the individual revision levels of each of the contained emulations.

This document is a copy of the printed manual supplied with the Famill 900 and 902 twinax interfaces. A number of extra features have been added since this manual was last edited. For further information, download the 902 User Guide Supplement.
At the time this document was produced, the latest ROM revision was B8-R. The ROM revision level of your interface may be obtained as described in this manual under the heading "Diagnostic Mode". If your revision differs from the one above, the technical notes obtained in this mode will list any changes to switch settings, font numbers or other important changes to the operation of the printer or interface All rights reserved.
